The Easter Baby

The Easter Baby

Babies are simply gorgeous no matter what time of year they arrive, but one born on a special holiday such as Easter can make it Eggspecially Eggciting…so lets have some fun and a bit of cheek with this holiday!

Naming an Easter Baby

Babies delivered around Easter could find them selves with a biblical or very unique name as this holiday is celebrated around the world.  Name choices include the obvious ‘Easter’, Parasha {Russian girls name meaning ‘reborn on Good Friday}, Daffodil or Willow {Scandavian girls dress as witches and go from door to door swapping willow branches}.  Click here to see Nameberry’s full Easter name list and meanings.

Gifts for the Easter Baby

Chocolate is not really an option as the gift of choice for the newborn, but that’s doesn’t mean we should exclude the new arrival, time to get creative!   We’ve seen some gorgeous rabbit lamps, keepsake jewelry, bunny wraps, birth prints, books and dinnerware available to purchase or you could consider making something Eggstremely sweet and crafty from our Easter Ideas Pinterest Board!

Celebrity Easter Baby

Feeling like an Easter Egg out in front even before you’ve unwrapped that first shiny piece of foil?  One Celebrity who has obviously embraced the oval shape and tried something a little ummmm….different, is Maria Carey.  If you cant wait to dress up your new little bundle, follow her lead and paint your Easter Bump, no wonder it looks so Eggnormous  with twins in there!

And if you’re passed the pregnancy stage or dont have the energy to have your tummy painted and wondering what to do with the other little members of the family…here’s an Eggstremely cheeky & cute idea.

Happy Easter!

Swaddling Baby

Swaddling Baby

Baby’s seem so content all wrapped up, safe and secure, it’s just the like womb!  Swaddling is one of the first things you learn in prenatal classes, it aids settling, can reduce risk of SIDS and promotes longer deeper sleeps.  Wrapping prevents newborns from waking themselves with the ‘startling reflex’ and is usually done until they can roll over by themselves.
There are many ‘how to’ instructions available on swaddling, each brand of specialised swaddle has its own tutorial.  Here we show you the classic swaddling wrap…take an appropriate sized muslin or cotton wrap, swaddle baby firmly and pray for peaceful sleep!

Specialised swaddling wraps available; SwaddleUp, the Woombie, ErgoPouch, Kiddopotamus,The Miracle Blanket and Snuggle Wrap.
You can see a full list with photo’s with links, of these and more, on our Pinterest Board – Newborn Swaddling.
Of course when you purchase your Stroller Bay by Stylish Little Me, you will receive a bonus signature monogrammed baby wrap…talk about a stylish mummy!

Have you used a specialised swaddle or plain muslin?  Which worked best for you?

NB:  Manual Baby-gami available here.
